Peacefully, at home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 two days after turning one hundred. A survivor of the Holocaust, she was a dedicated member of the Windsor, Ontario community after moving from Israel in 1968. Nelly was a long-time member of the Windsor Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue and was part of the volunteer kitchen crew that prepared baked goods for Shabbat, festivals and special occasions. She was a Hadassah-WIZO volunteer of the year and well known for helping out at Mazel Tov restaurant adjacent to the Windsor Jewish Community Center into her 90s. Nelly wed her adoring late husband Litman Gluzman in Cyprus while waiting to reside in Israel after the British refused their ship entry. Nelly and Litman were among the first families to establish a residence in Be’er Sheva in the newly formed country before immigrating to Canada. Devoted daughter of the late Yosef Goldblatt and the late Sara Goldblatt, who perished in the Holocaust. Loving mother of Ora Davy (Gluzman). Proud grandmother of Amirav Davy and his wife Naomi Goloff of Montreal and Erez Davy and his wife Jessica Davy of New Jersey. Nelly came from a large family and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and entire extended family. Many thanks to the dedicated caregivers who helped her live comfortably in her home and treated her like one of their own and to the palliative care team from the Mount Sinai Hospital Center and the CLSC.
