The graveside funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 2650 Pillette Road, Windsor, Ontario N8T 1R1. Hazzan Devorah Fick officiated.

Passed Away at WRH, Met Campus, on August 20, 2022, at 91 years old. Born in Toronto to the late Harry and Stella Weisbrod. Much loved sister of the late Beatrice Weisbrod (2017). Mom moved to Windsor in 1949 following her marriage to Jay Garber who passed away in 1976. Mom adored her In-Laws, the late Isadore & Sylvia Garber and Nan & Reuben Rosenberg.
Beloved Mum to Ken & Lea Garber, Janis Rosenberg, David & Barb Garber, Rhonda & John Robson. Awesome Bubby & great Bubby to Sarah, Adam (Zooey & Jonas), Vanessa, Matt (Eli), Stewart, Allison (William & Luna), Ryan, Kelly (Brennan & Cami), Jeremy, Haley (Grace, Everett & Eliza Jane), Tony, Kathleen, Frank (Morgan, Alastrin, Liam & Aria). Much Loved Aunt Joyce (AJ) to Cookie, Pamela, Mark and families.
Joyce and Jay were among the founding members of Temple Beth El (now Congregation Beth El). Active as President of the Sisterhood, President of Na’amat Canada. Her career as a Bookkeeper kept her very busy. She loved Gardening, Reading, Doing Crosswords and Search Words, playing cards and playing Mah-Jongg with her friends. Mom loved daily walks that included visits to Nana’s Bakery. Doug & Barb treated her like family and always looked out for her.
Thank you to Chartwell Oak Park Terrace for welcoming Mom when she could no longer stay in her home. A very special thank you to the loving staff of Huron House at Extendicare Southwood Lakes where she moved to in the middle of Covid.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Congregation Beth El.
